Glen Weyl holds a PhD in political economy and is co-author of the recent best-selling book, Radical Markets: Uprooting Capitalism and Democracy for a Just Society. In this book, Weyl draws on his research in economics and sociology of markets and tech to show how what we call the market economy (sometimes considered the root of many evils) is not what it seems. For Weyl, market mechanisms can be great tools for reducing inequality — provided they are properly implemented. This is why he founded the RadicalxChange Foundation, a group of activists, artists, researchers and entrepreneurs looking to build truly free and open markets, convinced that this is the only way to combine social progress and freedom. He will tell us about the ways the group has devised together to achieve that goal.
