Recently appointed Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the New York Office of the United Nations Environment Programme, Satya Tripathi is one of the world’s leading voices on environmental issues. He was previously Senior Advisor on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the UNEP, the UN agency charged with promoting partnerships in environmental protection and improving the quality of life of present and future generations. Tripathi’s experience in the area is impressive, as he has been involved in the fight for sustainable development for the past 35 years as a development economist and lawyer. He has been working for the United Nations since 1998 throughout the world on missions combining sustainable development, human rights and democratic governance. He will come to tell us about his fight and that of the United Nations for a sustainable and responsible progress.
