Audrey Azoulay
Director GeneralUNESCO Arles 2019
Can peace, human rights and culture be passed on? If so, how? The UNESCO Constitution includes this beautiful sentence: “Since wars begin in the minds of men and women, it is in the minds of men and women that the defences of peace must be constructed.” But how can this be achieved in concrete terms and what part is UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, to play? To discuss this, we are very honored to welcome Audrey Azoulay, French Minister of Culture and Communication between 2016 and 2017 and today’s Director-General of UNESCO. In Arles, she will present her vision of the priorities in education and culture at a global level for our world in crisis.
