Secretary of State to the Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, Brune Poirson is a key player in French environmental protection policy, in particular in the fight against global warming. Her personal and professional experience has made her keenly aware of the need to address these issues at the global level: She was born in Washington D.C. and has worked in India, including as a project manager for the French Development Agency, to promote sustainable urban development and biodiversity conservation. She was also Director of Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility for Veolia Water Systems in India. Since her appointment as Secretary of State in June 2017, Brune Poirson has been at the heart of European negotiations on these issues. She will outline for us what is France’s position on this issue, and offer her personal outlook on these major challenges for our future.
