David Djaïz
senior Civil Servant & Writer Val d'Isère 2022A graduate of France’s Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Sorbonne university with a degree in political philosophy, David Djaïz became a finance inspector in 2017. He then served as director of strategy and training at the Agence Nationale de la Cohésion des Territoires (National Agency for Territorial Cohesion) between 2020 and 2021, where he created the Académie des Territoires (the Academy of Territories).
A teacher at Science Po, columnist, and essayist, David Djaïz is the author of La guerre civile n’aura pas lieu (“The Civil War Will Not Take Place”) in 2017 and Slow Démocratie: Comment maîtriser la mondialisation et reprendre notre destin en main (“Slow Democracy: How to Master Globalization and Take Back Our Destiny”) in 2019, winner of the LCP political book student prize and the Édouard Bonnefous prize of the Académie des sciences morales et politiques. More recently, he published Le Nouveau Modèle Français (“The New French Model,” 2021). In his latest book, David Djaïz draws the portrait of our country through its history, its issues, as well as the emergence of its new society project — all aspects he will discuss more at length during the 14th edition of the Napoleons around the theme of “Governing.”
