Marie Robert

Philosophy teacher Val d’Isère 2020

Author and columnist, Marie Robert also teaches philosophy and French. Co-founder of two Montessori schools, in Paris and Marseille, she shares her philosophy chronicles on the radio. Her first book, Kant tu ne sais plus quoi faireil reste la philo, published in 2018, was translated in more than fifteen countries, and aimed to show us how philosophy is everywhere, including in our daily lives. It can, as such, help us quiet down crisis modes, that go with everyday life – whether serious or not so bad. It can also help us on a more fundamental level understand how one can build one’s relationship to the Other in the over-ubiquitous world we live in. How to be oneself and relate to others if one is everywhere and nowhere at the same time? Can the encounter with knowledge, a person, a text, or with oneself take place elsewhere than in the intimacy of a confined space? These are some of the questions she will help us tackle.
