Nicolas Obin

Nicolas OBIN is a lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Sorbonne University and a researcher in the sound analysis and synthesis team of the Music and Sound Sciences and Technologies laboratory (Ircam, CNRS, Sorbonne University).
His research activities cover sound processing, artificial intelligence, and statistical modeling of sound signals, with a specialization in speech processing and human communication.
He has collaborated with renowned artists (Eric Rohmer, Philippe Parreno, Roman Polansky, Leos Carrax, George Aperghis), is a regular speaker, and gives interviews in schools, institutions and French audiovisual media. He is also a teacher and co-responsible for training provided by the Sorbonne University, co-founder of DeepVoice, Paris, annual event on voice technologies, and SophIA, the student association for Artificial Intelligence.
On the occasion of this edition on the theme of “Governing”, Nicolas Obin will talk to us about vocal manipulation that can be applied in political discourse.
