Philippe Mangeot
Literature professor Arles 2019Philippe Mangeot is a multifaceted man. An activist and president of Act Up, he is also passionate about literature — to the point of making it his job. Co-screenwriter for BPM (Beats Per Minute) (Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival) and co-founder of the journal Vacarme, he is also behind the series of debates at the Pompidou Centre, mysteriously entitled The Observatory of Passions. And yet, his multiple lives coexist in harmony, linked by the same thread: commitment. For Philippe Mangeot is an intellectual, looking to understand and change the world, to make it a better place before passing onto the coming generations. He will be in Arles to tell us how he has devoted his life to this approach.
