Philippe Torreton
Actor and author Paris 2020Philippe Torreton is an actor and writer and recipient of a Molière theater award for best actor in Cyrano de Bergerac and a César award for his part in Captain Conan. As part of the prestigious Comédie-Française, Torreton took on prestigious roles such as Scapin, Hamlet and Tartuffe. He also starred in many movies including Monsieur N., Mood Indigo and Captain Conan. In 2016, he wrote Cher François : Lettres ouvertes à toi, Président (“Dear François: Open Letters to the President”) in which he focused on social and political issues. Today, he is a staunch defender of the role of culture in civic values and education, a role he considers to be at risk.
